WORSHIP SERVICES

April 16th – EASTER BASKET BLESSING & BRUNCH at 10:00 AM

Easter baskets in our Polish and Hungarian Unitarian traditions were meant to sustain life without candy.  They were filled with substantial food, like a leg of lamb, a wheel of cheese, wine, condiments, anything needed for food security in the early spring, before edible food started to grow. These baskets were covered with heavily decorated cloths.
We have an all American potluck and worship service to honor this tradition.  Everyone brings a potluck dish that should be covered with a pretty cloth.  Our dishes are unveiled during the service.

IN CLOSING
By Robert Frost, from his poem “Two Tramps In Mud Time.”

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.
