WORSHIP SERVICE

April 2nd – Steve Wills’ popular TED and Response program.
Blessed is the UU Universalist, enjoying all the Faiths in the world!

Continuing in the spirit Michael Young brought us last week, Steve encourages us to  reclaim our rich faith-based heritage.

April 9th – Rev. Richards — Why Palm Sunday?  What might a tree have to do with it?

April 16th – EASTER BASKET BLESSING & BRUNCH at 10:00 AM

Easter baskets in our Polish and Hungarian Unitarian traditions were meant to sustain life.  They were filled with substantial food, like a leg of lamb, a wheel of cheese, wine, condiments, anything needed for food security in the early spring, before edible food started to grow. These baskets were covered with heavily decorated cloths, that were always returned to the sender because they were masterpieces.
We have an all American potluck and worship service to honor this tradition.  Everyone brings a dish that should be covered with a pretty cloth.  The dishes are unveiled during the service.

April 23rd – Our Annual Earth Day Service by Kathy Richards

April 30th – Rev. Richards – “The Day Before May Day – Doing Our
                                                 Social Justice Homework.”

IN CLOSING

Evening In A Sugar Orchard
by Robert Frost

From where I lingered in a lull in March
outside the sugar-house one night for choice,
I called the fireman with a careful voice
And bade him leave the pan and stoke the arch:
‘O fireman, give the fire another stoke,
And send more sparks up chimney with the smoke.’
I thought a few might tangle, as they did,
Among bare maple boughs, and in the rare
Hill atmosphere not cease to glow,
And so be added to the moon up there.
The moon, though slight, was moon enough to show
On every tree a bucket with a lid,
And on black ground a bear-skin rug of snow.
The sparks made no attempt to be the moon.
They were content to figure in the trees
As Leo, Orion, and the Pleiades.
And that was what the boughs were full of soon.
