First Fruits festivals, like Lughnasadh (Pagan) or Shavuot (Hebrew) or Lammas (Christian) are about the give and take that makes our societies function.  From the story of Stone Soup to the 10 Commandments, we celebrate the arriving abundance and the cooperation necessary to make it last the whole year through.

Alice Harrison was born.  She become director of you activities for the Universalist Church of America in 1946, and later became the Director of Junior High Dept of the Unitarian Universalist Association after the merger in 1961.  She produced program materials and lead dozens of conferences.  She was ordained in 1968 and received a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1981 at the age of 75.   Alice Harrison died on June 13, 1989.
